General Overview

We are assembling a passionate leadership team to serve the guests of Nuri Steakhouse, an exciting Dallas-based steakhouse with Asian influences. Our mission is to inspire people to embrace the diverse cultures of the world while fostering meaningful connections within our communities through exceptional hospitality and dining experiences.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and hospitality-driven General Manager to lead our team. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction, and driving financial success. This role requires a strong leader who can cultivate a positive work environment, develop and mentor staff, and uphold our commitment to excellence in service and cuisine.

 

*Proven leadership experience in fine dining restaurant operations is required.*

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a industry-leading team by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training front-of-house team.
  • Oversee scheduling to ensure optimal coverage while balancing labor costs and guest experience.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing clear feedback, coaching, and growth opportunities.
  • Enforce company policies with consistency, handling disciplinary actions and terminations professionally and in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability to uphold Nuri Steakhouse’s fine dining standards.
  • Handle discipline and termination of team members in accordance with company policy.

Essential Functions

  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including staffing, inventory, guest experience, and overall service flow.
    • Implement and uphold operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, consistency, and adherence to fine dining standards.
  • Staff Leadership and Development:
    • Recruit, train, and manage front-of-house team.
    • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and ongoing coaching to build a high-performing, engaged team.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, address performance concerns, and implement training programs for continuous staff development.
  • Customer Service Excellence:
    • Maintain exceptional customer service standards by maintaining high standards of hospitality.
    • Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and professionally, fostering loyalty and repeat business.
    • Monitor and maintain a pristine, welcoming, and well-organized restaurantenvironment.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage restaurant budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and monitoring financial performance.
    • Control operating costs and optimize revenue streams to maximize profitability while maintaining quality.
    • Confirm and submit payroll for all team members, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, tip distribution, and compliance with wage regulations.
  • Marketing and Promotions:
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional strategies that drive guest traffic and enhance brand visibility.
    • Build relationships within the local community and industry partners to strengthen Nuri Steakhouse’s reputation.
  • Menu and Quality Control:
    • Work closely with the culinary team to develop, refine, and update menus in alignment with seasonal offerings and guest preferences.
    • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and adherence to established standards.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations to protect guests and staff.
    • Stay informed about licensing, labor laws, and industry regulations, maintaining all necessary permits.
    • Enforce security procedures to safeguard assets, guests, and employees.

Major Responsibilities / Specific Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in high-end or fine dining restaurant operations.
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to mentor, train, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills, with a focus on delivering a world-class dining experience.
  • Strong business acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Deep understanding of food safety, health regulations, and operational compliance.
  • Proficient in restaurant management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Promote the culture, values, and mission of Restaurant K ensuring alignment with company standards.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in fine dining restaurant management.
  • Proven track record of leading success-oriented teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Businees acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Experience with restaurant technology systems, POS systems, and operational reporting tools.
  • Must possess a Food Handler's and TABC certification before starting work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to navigate the restaurant floor, kitchen and storage areas, including walking, bending, stretching, squatting, and kneeling as needed.
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift).
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently and use assistance when available i.e. hand trucks, ramps, or another team member.
  • Must be comfortable working in varied conditions, including exposure to heat from the kitchen and cooler temperatures in storage areas.
  • Prolonged periods of desk work, administrative tasks, and computer use required for reporting, scheduling, payroll, and financial oversight.
