General Overview

We are assembling a passionate team to lead and serve the guests of Nuri Steakhouse, an exciting new Dallas-based steakhouse with Asian influences. Our mission is to inspire people to embrace the diverse cultures of the world, and to play a vital role in connecting our communities through these rich cultural experiences.

 

We are seeking a motivated and efficient Food Runner to join our restaurant team. The Runner is a key player in ensuring the smooth flow of operations by facilitating communication between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff. This role involves delivering food orders to the correct tables, supporting servers, and maintaining overall efficiency in the dining experience.

Essential Functions

  • Collect food orders from the kitchen and ensure accurate and timely delivery to the correct tables.
  • Communicate with the kitchen and servers to coordinate the pacing of food service.
  • Support servers by delivering additional items such as condiments, beverages, and utensils to tables.
  • Collaborate with servers to address guest requests or modifications to orders.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication between the kitchen and the dining staff.
  • Relay any special requests, allergies, or dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
  • Assist in clearing and resetting tables as needed to ensure a smooth turnover.
  • Monitor and replenish table supplies such as napkins, condiments, and utensils.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly and escalate to the appropriate staff if necessary.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure the accuracy and completeness of orders.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and laws including health and safety standards.
  • Foster a guest-focused environment, delivering a consistently outstanding hospitality experience.

Major Responsibilities / Specific Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a calm, composed demeanor in high-stress situations while providing excellent customer service.
  • Possess a positive, welcoming attitude and a warm and personable presence.
  • Teamwork abilities and team player’s mentality.
  • The ability to manage a high volume of guests.
  • Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
  • A passion for hospitality and a desire to inspire guests to embrace diverse cultures and cuisines.
  • Promote and uphold the culture, values, and mission of Restaurant K ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • To inspire people to embrace different cultures of the world.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight (8) hours.
  • Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time. Required to use assistance when available i.e. hand trucks, ramps, or another team member.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must be at least (18) years of age.
  • Possess a current Food Handler’s and TABC certification before starting work.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a fine dining or upscale casual environment is preferred.
